Abstract:
A process for producing a gasket excelling sealing capability, comprising applying gasket seal forming material (3) to surface to be coated (2a) of gasket base sheet (2) with the use of a dispenser and hardening the gasket seal forming material (3), wherein the gasket seal (7) has a uniform sectional height and has a sectional configuration nearly uniform from side to side. Quartz glass sheet (6) is mounted on seal peak (4) of gasket seal forming material (3) applied onto gasket base sheet (2). Alternatively, the forming material (3) is first irradiated with light to such a degree that the surface thereof is hardened, and subsequently high-transparency sheet (8) is mounted thereon. Thereafter, the gasket seal forming material (3) is irradiated with light having passed through the quartz glass sheet (6) or the high-transparency sheet (8) to thereby harden the gasket seal forming material (3).
