Abstract:

A process for producing a hot-rolled steel strip on a hot rolling line, especially a process capable of effecting stable run of hot-rolled steel strip on a run-out table to thereby avoid excess displacement of steel strip above pass line and avoid failure, such as front edge breakage or rear edge breakage, attributed thereto. In particular, in the process, fluid is jetted above the hot-rolled steel strip carried by a run-out table so that the fluid jet travels above the hot-rolled steel strip without being brought into contact with the surface of hot-rolled steel strip passed on pass line (namely, steel strip carrying surface of run-out table). The portion of steel strip having displaced upward over a given level from the pass line collides with the fluid jet, so that the displacement of the steel strip portion is corrected. The fluid jet travels above the hot-rolled steel strip being normally passed without being brought into contact with the same, so that the displacement of steel strip portion by fluid jet per se can be appropriately avoided.
