Title:
PROCESS FOR PRODUCING MODIFIED PEPTIDE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2003/084983
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A process for producing a peptide or a protein containing an amino acid residue having a modified side chain characterized by comprising chemically producing a peptide fragment containing an amino acid residue having a modified side chain with the use of a weakly acidic eliminating resin, producing by a genetic modification method and/or an enzymatic method another peptide fragment containing no amino acid residue having a modified side chain, and then fusing the obtained two peptides fragments with each other. According to this process, a peptide or a protein having a modification such as acylation, glycosylation or phosphorylation and being excellent in qualities can be efficiently obtained.
