Abstract:
High-quality recycled pulp of high whiteness with reduced ink residue is produced by, in the process for recycling waste paper, detaching ink by the use of force selectively acting on fiber surface while inhibiting damaging of fibers. Further, by the use of force acting only on fiber surface, not only is the fiber surface modified so as to obtain high-quality pulp but also contaminants causing deterioration of pulp quality are rendered harmless. In particular, there is provided a process for producing recycled pulp, characterized in that in the process for recycling waste paper, cavitation is induced with which contaminants adhering to fibers and ash are separated. Contaminants, such as ink, adhering to fibers and ash are separated and miniaturized by impact strength at minute bubble breakup brought about by positively introducing air bubbles resulting from cavitation into a pulp suspension. Further, there is provided a jet flow apparatus comprising one or more nozzles for emitting a jet of water base slurry, the water base slurry containing a substance constituted of cellulose, into a vessel.
