Abstract:

A process for easily producing alkoxythiochroman-carboxylic acids, which are used in the production of pyrazole derivatives having a thiochroman ring and useful as a herbicide, via the hydrolysis of alkoxythiochroman-carboxylic acid esters without resort to any costly step such as Grignard reaction.
