Abstract:
A process of producing aromatic hydrocarbons from a light hydrocarbon component
comprising hydrocarbons having seven or fewer carbon atoms as the main component
in a satisfactorily high yield by bringing a raw material comprising light hydrocarbons
having 2 to 7 carbon atoms as the main component into contact with a catalyst composition
containing a gallium-containing crystalline aluminosilicate as the essential,
characterized in that the reaction step for converting light hydrocarbons into
aromatic hydrocarbons comprises as the essentials two or more reaction layers
which are arranged in series and each consist of the above catalyst composition
and heating means provided either between the reaction layers or in the reaction
layers and that the quantity of the catalyst in the first reaction layer accounts
for at most 30% by volume of the whole catalyst and/or the aromatic yield of the
fluid discharged from the first reaction layer is 0.5 to 30% by mass.
