A process for production of fluorocompounds by which high-purity fulorocompounds can be produced with inexpensive and easily handleable N-(2-chloro-1,1,2-trifluoroethyl)diethylamine while inhibiting the formation of chloride by-products, namely, a process for the production of fluorocompounds represented by the general formula (2): R¹R²R³CF (2) [wherein R¹ is hydrogen, substituted or unsubstituted alkyl, or the like; and R² and R³ are each substituted or unsubstituted alkyl or the like] by fluorinating an alcohol derivative represented by the general formula (1): R¹R²R³COH (1) [wherein R¹, R² and R³ are each as defined above] with N,N-diethyl-2-chloro-1,1,2-trifluoroethylamine, characterized by the addition of an alcohol derivative represented by the general formula (3): R⁴OH (3) [wherein R⁴ is substituted or unsubstituted alkyl or aryl].
