Abstract:
Provided is a process for the production of a glass-cloth-based base material. The process comprises an impregnation step of impregnating a surface-treated glass cloth with a liquid composition that contains both a solvent and a liquid-crystal polyester to form a glass cloth impregnated with the liquid composition, and a base material preparation step of removing the solvent from the liquid composition contained in the glass cloth impregnated therewith to form a glass-cloth-based base material. By the process, the tight adhesion between liquid-crystal polyester and glass cloth can be improved, whereby the heat resistance of a glass-cloth-based base material in a moisturized state can be improved.
