Abstract:
Disclosed is a process for production of glycidol, which enables to produce glycidol in a high yield by using glycerine carbonate as a starting material. The process comprises the following steps (1) and (2): (1) reducing the content of a weakly acidic salt in glycerine carbonate to a level of 1500 ppm by mass or lower; and (2) producing glycidol using the glycerine carbonate.
