Abstract:
An optically active carboxylic acid compound can be produced by hydrolyzing an optically active acylated camphorsultam with an aqueous solution of an alkali earth metal hydroxide in the presence of a branched alkanol, whereby a corresponding optically active carboxylic acid compound can be produced in a safe and inexpensive manner.
