Title:
PROCESS FOR SEPARATING OR EXTRACTING NUCLEIC ACID FROM SPECIMEN CONTAINING THE SAME
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/1992/018647
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A process for separating or extructing a specified nucleic acid from the solution of a specimen containing nucleic acids which comprises the steps of: (1) immobilizing a single-stranded nucleic acid on an insoluble carrier at its terminal, (2) contacting the immobilized nucleic acid with the specimen containing nucleic acids in solution under the nucleic acid hybridization condition, and (3) isolating the nucleic acid which hybridizes with the immobilized nucleic acid from the specimen. This process can realize simultaneous separation of two or more single-stranded nucleic acids which are different from one another in the base sequence and highly accurate nucleic acid subtraction.
