Abstract:
Disclosed in the present disclosure are a process and device for preparing synthesis gas by electrolysis of CO2. The process comprises: a carbon dioxide enrichment step: absorbing CO2 from a CO2 gas source by using a CO2-poor electrolyte to obtain a CO2-rich electrolyte; an electrolyte circulation step: conveying the CO2-rich electrolyte into a cathode cavity of an electrochemical reactor, simultaneously conveying the CO2-poor electrolyte into an anode cavity of the electrochemical reactor, mixing a cathode electrolyte discharged from the cathode cavity and an anode electrolyte discharged from the anode cavity after electrolysis, and supplementing water to obtain a CO2-poor electrolyte having a constant concentration; and an electrolysis step: supplying a direct current to the electrochemical reactor, catalytically reducing CO2 and water in the CO2-rich electrolyte into synthesis gas in the cathode cavity of the electrochemical reactor, and catalytically oxidizing water in the CO2-poor electrolyte into oxygen in the anode cavity of the electrochemical reactor. The process in the present disclosure has strong tolerance to the concentration of CO2 in the CO2 gas source, and is applicable to both a high-purity gas source and a low-concentration CO2 industrial gas source.
