Abstract:
Processes for forming a polarized lens (10) via an injection/coining injection molding process are disclosed. One of the processes includes forming a polarizing insert (50) by sandwiching a polarizer (20) between two layers (30) of cellulosic material, and surrounding the polarizing insert (50) with high-impact polymer (100) using an injection/coining process of injection molding that results in minimal stress in the lens (10).
