Abstract:

A novel process for preparing alkylsilanes or alkenylsilanes by hydrosilylation between a silane and an unsaturated hydrocarbon in the presence or absence of a catalyst, a process for preparing polyalkenylsilanes (part of them being novel high-molecular compounds) by anionic coordination polymerization, radical polymerization or ionic polymerization of the alkenylsilanes, and a process for preparing silicon carbide by using these polyalkenylsilanes as prepolymers.
