Abstract:
An embodiment provides a product reading device for reading a code symbol attached to a product, the product reading device comprising: a first reading unit forming, on the side where an operator is positioned, a reading area capable of reading the code symbol; a second reading unit provided in a position different from the first reading unit, and forming the reading area on the side where the operator is positioned; and an information reading unit that reads code information held in the code symbol from a reading result from the first reading unit or the second reading unit. The reading area of the first reading unit and the reading area of the second reading unit at least partly overlap with each other.
