Provided is a production line configuration changing system which swiftly reconstructs a production line and maximizes a production amount, even when a fault or the like occurs in the production line or even when a change in design of a product occurs. The production line configuration changing system is provided with: a fault information storage unit which stores information on faults occurring in equipment of the production line; a work information storage unit which stores work content necessary for manufacturing the product; an equipment information storage unit which stores restriction information on a tool mountable to the equipment; a production line configuration information storage unit which stores, in the order of manufacturing processes for the product, the work content in the manufacturing processes, work-allocated equipment, a tool mounted to the equipment, and a process cycle time; and a production line configuration calculation unit that is activated right after the fault occurs, that creates, for the product line configuration information stored in the product line configuration information storage unit, a change proposal for allocating work, which has been allocated to the equipment in which the fault has occurred, to equipment before or after the process or to another equipment in the same process by using the equipment or tool included in the product line, and that calculates a temporary production line configuration.
