Abstract:
Provided is a method for efficiently producing alkoxysilanes that are useful as chemical products for a variety of functions. The alkoxysilanes are produced by reacting ethoxy- or methoxysilane and alcohol using as a catalyst an inorganic solid acid or the like having a uniformly porous, layered structure. Zeolites, montmorillonites, or the like can be used as the inorganic solid acid. When zeolites are used as the catalyst, substances in which the silica/alumina ratio is between 5 and 1000 are preferred. The reaction can also be accelerated by microwave irradiation.
