Abstract:
A production method for carbon fiber, including a flame-proofing step in which: heat-amount control is performed in accordance with the state of a fiber precursor; and the fiber precursor (5) having little broken yarn during the flame-proofing step is heat-treated. In the flame-proofing step, the heat treatment is performed by a heated gas that applies different amounts of heat to the fiber precursor (5) and is supplied parallel to a surface orthogonal to a step direction of the fiber precursor (5) that travels over a plurality of steps.
