Abstract:
A cylindrical print substrate having a thickness of high precision and surface smoothness suitable for printing. A process for producing a cylindrical print substrate containing a layer of cured photosensitive resin comprises (i) a step for forming a spiral coat layer by coating a cylindrical support with photosensitive resin by spiral coat system, (ii) a step for forming a coating layer consisting of the spiral coat layer having a uniform surface by touching the doctor blade to the spiral coat layer, and by passing the spiral coat layer through a clearance formed by a doctor blade and the outer circumferential surface of the cylindrical support, and then separating the doctor blade from the coating layer, and (iii) a step for forming a layer of cured photosensitive resin by photo-curing the coating layer, wherein the doctor blade is touched to the spiral coat layer from below the cylindrical support and then the doctor blade is separated downward. A production device for use in that production method is also provided.
