Abstract:
The production method for a glass roll GR comprises: a transport step for transporting a band-shaped glass film G2 along a horizontal transport direction by means of a transport device 4; and a winding-up step for winding-up the glass film G2 into a roll shape. The transport step comprises an examination step for measuring, in a state wherein the glass film G2 passing through a middle transport region MS of the transport device 4 has been tensioned by a tensioning unit, the state of each of the end portions Gd, Ge of the glass film G2 in the width direction by means of detection units 19a, 19b.
