Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to suppress structural changes associated with charging and discharging and thereby achieve high capacity and suppress the capacity reduction from repeated charging and discharging that is a drawback of LNO. The present invention is characterized by having a mixing step for mixing lithium phosphate and a lithium–transition metal composite oxide that has a layered crystal structure, a milling step for applying mechanical stress to the mixture obtained in the mixing step and giving the lithium phosphate and the lithium–transition metal composite oxide an amorphous or low-crystallinity NiO-like halite-type crystal structure, and a heat treatment step for performing a heat treatment on the mixture obtained in the milling step and obtaining a lithium–transition metal composite oxide that has a layered halite-type crystal structure in which the lithium phosphate is dispersed as fine crystals. The present invention is also characterized in that the lithium–transition metal composite oxide is represented by the general formula LisNi1-x-y-zCoxMnyMzO2+α and in that the lithium phosphate fine crystals coat the surfaces of primary particles of the lithium–transition metal composite oxide that has a layered halite-type crystal structure and are dispersed inside or on the surfaces of secondary particles of the lithium–transition metal composite oxide that has a layered halite-type crystal structure.
