Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a trans-bis(2-hydroxyalkyl) cyclohexanedicarboxylate (trans-BHAC) production method that makes it possible to obtain trans-BHAC simply and in high yields. [Solution] This trans-BHAC production method is characterized in that trans-BHAC is obtained by isomerizing cis-bis(2-hydroxyalkyl) cyclohexanedicarboxylate (cis-BHAC) by contact with a basic oxide. The isomerization is preferably performed at a temperature of 160℃–300℃. The weight ratio of the cis-BHAC and the basic oxide is preferably 100:0.1–100:10.
