Abstract:
A program editing system for editing a ladder program in a PC (programmable controller). A label (2) followed by a unit number (4a) is provided in the ladder program, and the ladder program is processed and edited with reference to the label (2) and the unit number (4a). The ladder program is regarded as a set of programs for individual functions, and a label is provided for each function, and a unit number is put to each label. The ladder program is processed and edited with reference to the label and the unit number. As a result, even when a function, i.e., a program corresponding to a label, is added or deleted, there is no need of changing the labels or the unit numbers for the programs of other labels and no processing is needed, either. Furthermore, a desired unit can be easily searched by searching the labels and unit numbers.
