Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to reduce power consumption of a lamp which continues to be in a lighted state after an operation of turning off a power supply is performed. A display device of the present invention includes: a lamp drive unit (15), which supplies drive power to a lamp (16) having a halogen cycle; and a control unit (25), which controls the lamp drive unit when the control unit receives a light-off signal that indicates that the lamp is turned off, and which supplies, to the lamp for a predetermined time, power that is lower than the rated power of the lamp and lower than the power with which the halogen cycle is generated, then turns off the lamp.
