A protection mechanism for preventing second firing of a stapler. The stapler comprises a staple cartridge accommodating part (1), a staple cartridge (2), and a push driving member (3); the upper surface of the push driving member (3) comprises a horizontal plane and an inclined plane; and the push driving member (3) is movable between an initial position and a firing position. The protection mechanism comprises an elastic urging member (4), a pressing member (5), a limiting slot (6), and a limiting pin (7); when the push driving member (3) is in the initial position, the elastic urging member (4) is disposed on the staple cartridge accommodating part (1) and provides an upward urging force to the bottom of the push driving member (3), the limiting slot (6) is disposed on the horizontal plane of the push driving member (3), and the limiting pin (7) is relatively fixed to the staple cartridge accommodating part (1) and is located above the limiting slot (6). The protection mechanism can achieve the effect of preventing the second firing of the stapler by means of the elastic urging member (4), the pressing member (5), the limiting slot (6), and the limiting pin (7) working in conjunction with each other, and has a low manufacturing cost and a simple structure.
