Provided is a protection structure for joint seals that fill seams between panel members constituting an exterior building wall or joint seals that fill expansion-contraction construction joints of concrete constituting the exterior building wall, wherein the protection structure for joint seals comprises: a covering material that protects a joint seal from the outside of the exterior wall and that is installed and fixed to the exterior surface of each adjacent panel member; or a covering material that protects a joint seal from the outside of the exterior wall and that is installed and fixed to the exterior surface of each concrete structure adjacent to a concrete expansion-contraction construction joint. Also provided is a protection method for joint seals comprising: a step for protecting a joint seal from the outside of the exterior wall with covering material and installing and fixing same to the exterior surface of each adjacent panel member; or a step for protecting a joint seal from the outside of the exterior wall with covering material and installing and fixing same to the exterior surface of each concrete structure adjacent to a concrete expansion-contraction construction joint.
