Abstract:
Provided are: a protective cover for a horizontal pneumatic fender, that suppresses adherence by water surface oil and swelling deterioration of a fender; a horizontal pneumatic fender; and a usage for a horizontal pneumatic fender. A detachable protective cover 2 comprising a cylindrical protective layer 3 and an attachment section 4 is attached to a horizontal pneumatic fender 1A. A trunk section 1a of the pneumatic fender 1A and some of the area in the vertical direction of the outer surface of each mirror section 1b are coated, as a result of having a gap between the trunk section 1a and the outer surface of each mirror section 1b and arranging a protective layer 3 on the outside thereof. When oil C is floating on water in which the pneumatic fender 1A is placed, the oil C and the range coated by the protective layer 3 of the pneumatic fender 1A are separated, by the protective layer 3.
