Abstract:
Provided are: an application assistance implement that makes it possible to quickly and easily apply a protective patch to a teat of a domestic animal; and a method for quickly and easily applying a protective patch to a teat of a domestic animal using the application assistance implement. An application assistance implement (2) that is for applying a protective patch (54) to a teat (64) of a domestic animal to protect the opening (66) of the teat and that comprises: a pair of operation pieces (4a, 4b) that have base end parts (10a, 10b) that are turnably connected to each other; and an elastic member (6) that is provided between free end parts (12a, 12b) of the pair of operation pieces (4a, 4b).
