Abstract:
This proximity sensor (10) is provided with one or more detection electrodes (12) that forms a capacitive coupling with an approaching object, a contact electrode (13) that is brought into contact with the object, an excitation circuit (22) that is connected to one of the detection electrode and the contact electrode, and supplies an excitation voltage to said electrode, and a detection circuit (21) that is connected to the other of the detection electrode and the contact electrode, and, on the basis of a detection voltage in said electrode, generates a detection signal (Sd) corresponding to a first capacitance (Cdet) between the detection electrode and the object. According to the first capacitance that is smaller than a second capacitance (Cc) between the contact electrode and the object, the detection circuit generates a detection signal so as to indicate the degree of proximity of the object that has made contact with the contact electrode to the detection electrode.
