Abstract:
A proximity sensor (1) is provided with: a coil (11) and a coil (12) which are disposed separated from one another by a pre-determined distance (D); a first distance calculating unit (31) and a second distance calculating unit (32) which respectively calculate a first distance (d1) and a second distance (d2) from the coil (11) and the coil (12) respectively to an object to be detected (W), on the basis of reception results (voltages) from the coil (11) and the coil (12) respectively; and a position estimating unit (33) which estimates the position of the object to be detected (W) on the basis of the distance (D), the first distance (d1) and the second distance (d2).
