Description:
PULL-OUT MOUNTING FRAME FOR A FURNITURE MIRROR

The invention relates to a pull-out support frame, in particular for furniture mirrors.

From patent description WO2010027945 there is known a mounting assembly comprising scissor-type guide having two crossed profiled arms pivotally coupled by a connector in the form of a screw, whereby on one side the ends of these arms are pivotally mounted to a movable interface plate, and on the other side upper ends of the arms are pivotally mounted to a wall, and bottom ends are slidably attached to a frame acting as a guide, which is attached to the above mentioned wall.

From description GB2135187 there is also known a mirror having two hinges, one of which is fixed. To the other hinge there is attached one end of a connecting link whose opposing end is slidably attached, and there is also an additional arm pivotally connected with the center of the connecting link, whereby the other end of the arm is attached to another hinge.

From Polish utility model application W-113302 there is known a mirror with sliding assembly having at least one pair of levers whose ends are attached pivotally onto its rear surface, whereas the opposite ends of the levers are pivotally attached to elements slidably mounted on guides which are parallel to the vertical plane of the mirror and that are located at the same height as the first ends of the levers. Elements of both of the pairs of levers are connected with a drive unit.

According to the invention the furniture pull-out mounting frame is characterised in that it comprises two U-profile frames connected by three scissor-type assemblies, whereby the outer dimensions of the front frame are smaller than those of the rear frame, that is the contour of the external side edges of the front frame is smaller relative to the contour of the rear frame by twice the thickness of the scissor-type assembly plus a structural clearance.

The outer top edge of the front frame is lowered relative to the outer top edge of the rear frame by the thickness of the scissor-type assembly plus a structural clearance. In addition, the ends of the arms of the three scissor-type coupling assemblies are attached to structural elements that are perpendicular in relation to the planes of the front and of the rear frame.

One end of the first arm of the horizontal scissor-type assembly is attached pivotally onto a horizontal shelf of the rear frame, and the opposite end of the first arm is equipped with a pin with a head, which is inserted into an elongated hole situated on a second shelf. The second arm, on the other hand, has its one end pivotally attached onto a first shelf of the front frame, whereas its opposing end is equipped with a pin with a head which is inserted into an elongated hole made in a wall of the rear frame.

One end of the first arm of the vertical scissor-type assemblies, which is placed on the inner side of the assembly, is pivotally attached onto a support on the rear frame, whereas the opposite end of the first arm is equipped with a pin with a head which is inserted into an elongated hole located on a projection of a vertical element of the front frame.

One end of the second arm of the vertical scissor-type assemblies is pivotally attached to a protruding bracket of the front frame.

Favorably, one end of the first arm is attached to the support on the rear frame on its outer surface.

Favorably, the other end of the first arm is situated on the outer side of the vertical projection on the structural element of the front frame.

Favorably, one end of the second arm is attached to the protruding bracket of the front frame on its inner plane.

The first horizontal shelf of the front frame is in a same plane as the wall of the rear frame.

On one vertical side of the front frame there is a first mounting bracket where a switch is mounted, whereas on the rear frame there is a second mounting bracket, situated at the same height as the first, where a permanent magnet interacting with the switch is installed, whereby the switch is connected with a power supply by a cable.

The mounting frame has a compact and sturdy build. The mounting frame, thanks to having a compact build, after being folded has a thickness only slightly wider than each of its scissor-type assemblies. Thanks to that it can be safely shipped and is easy to assemble. Frame structure makes it possible to mount a mirror near a washbasin tap, after cutting off some of the lower part of a mirror surface, if need be.

The design ensures interchangeability of components and allows for various configurations. There is possibility to adapt the mounting frame to the needs of people with disabilities. If the hinges of the arms are placed outside of axis of symmetry of the arms, the mirror will slide out diagonally, upwards or downwards.

The example of the device in accordance with the invention is shown in the drawings, where Fig. 1 presents a general view of the first frame from the inside, fig. 2 presents a general view of the second frame, fig. 3 presents axonometric drawing of the whole mounting frame, fig. 4 presents arms of the scissor-type assembly with five holes for the pin, fig. 5 presents a detail of the arm with the pin on its end, fig. 6 presents a top-view of the rear frame.

The mounting frame has a front frame 1 and a rear frame 2, both made of U-profiles and connected in a movable way by three scissor-type assemblies 3, 4, and 5, whereby the frame 1 has a smaller outer dimension than the frame 2. The horizontal scissor-type assembly 3 comprises two arms 6 and 7 made of metal flat bars pivotaily coupled. The ends of the arms 6 and 7 on one side are equipped with pins with heads 8 which in turn are inserted into elongated holes 9 acting as guides, whereby these elongated holes on one of their ends are enlarged so that the pins' heads can fit through. Opposing ends of the arms 6 and 7 are pivotaily connected with the front frame 1 and the rear frame 2. One end of the first arm 6 of the scissor-type assembly 3 is pivotaily connected with a horizontal bracket 10 of the rear frame 2, whereby the bracket 10 is lowered in relation to the wall 11 of the rear frame 2 by at least the thickness of the scissor-type assembly 3. The first arm 6 of the scissor-type assembly 3 is placed under the second arm 7, whose one end is pivotaily attached to a first shelf 12 projecting from the front frame 1 , whereby the first shelf 12 is in the same plane as the wall 11 of the rear frame 2 in which there is located the elongated hole 9 for the pin 8 which is attached to one end of the second arm 7, whereby the end of the arm 7 is placed under the wall 11. The pin 8 of the opposing end of the first arm 6 of the scissor-type assembly 3 is inserted into the elongated hole 9 located on the second horizontal shelf 3, whereby the first arm 6 is placed on the top of the second shelf 13, which is lowered in relation to the shelf 12 by the thickness of the scissor-type assembly plus some structural clearance.

Vertical scissor-type assemblies 4 and 5 represent mirror images of each other and each one of them comprises two arms 14 and 15 pivotaily coupled. The end of the arm 14 of the scissor-type assembly 4 or 5, whereby the arm 14 is located on the inner side of the scissor-type assembly 4 or 5, is pivotaily connected with a support 16 on the rear frame 2 on its outer side. The opposing end of the first arm 14 is equipped with the pin 8 which is inserted into the elongated hole 9 located on a projection 17 of the vertical structural element of the front frame 1 , whereby the end of the arm 14 is placed on the outer side of the projection 17.

One end of the second arm 15 of the scissor-type assemblies 4 and 5 is pivotally attached to a protruding bracket 18 of the front frame at its inner surface. The protruding bracket 18 is situated away from the center relative to the plane of the outer side of the support 16 of the rear frame 2 by a distance equal to the thickness of the scissor-type assembly 3, 4, or 5 plus a structural clearance, whereas the support 16 and the projection 17 are in the same plane. The opposing end of the second arm 15 is equipped with the pin 8 inserted into the elongated hole 9 made within a side 19 of the rear frame 2, whereby the end of the second arm 15 flushes with the inner plane of the side 19. In addition, the side 19 is shortened on its upper end, whereby the length of this shortening is equal to the length of the protruding bracket 18 in such a way that, after both frames 1 and 2 are folded, the protruding bracket 18 flushes with the side 19.

The rear frame 2 has on its upper part a wall 20 with an opening 21 for a power supply 22 which is screwed into the wall 20. In addition, in the wall 20 there are two symmetrically located primary holes 24 for hanging the rear frame 2. Aside from that on vertical structural elements of the rear frame 2 there are two secondary holes 25 for screwing it into a solid base. The front frame has ribs 26 for stiffening the structure.

On vertical segments 27 of the front frame 1 and of the rear frame 2 there are mounting brackets 28 and 29. There is a switch 30 mounted on the first mounting bracket 28 of the front frame 1 , and a permanent magnet 31 , which interacts with a switch 30, is fitted on the second mounting bracket 29 of the rear frame 2. There is a spiral and flexible power cable 32 running between the power supply 22 and the connector 30.

On the front frame 1 there are shaped holes 33 for mounting a mirror and tertiary holes 34 for screwing it.

In an alternative solution the arms 14 and 15 of the scissor-type assemblies 4 and 5 have at least two holes 35 for a coupling pin.
