Abstract:
There are provided a pulse generation circuit and a modulator capable of obtaining a
high on/off ratio with a small circuit scale and a low power consumption. A short pulse
generation circuit comprises an oscillation circuit (101), a control signal
generation circuit (102), an intermittent multiplication circuit (103), a
filter (104), and an output terminal (105). The oscillation circuit (101) and
the intermittent multiplication circuit (103) are active circuits configured with
active elements. The oscillation circuit (101) outputs a continuous signal, which
is input to the intermittent multiplication circuit (103). The control signal
generation circuit (102) outputs a control signal, by which the intermittent multiplication
circuit (103) operates intermittently to generate a short pulse signal. The
filter removes spurious components.
