Abstract:
This pulse laser device is provided with: a semiconductor laser element that outputs a single-wavelength laser beam; a semiconductor optical amplifier, which receives the laser beam outputted from the semiconductor laser element, and amplifies and outputs the laser beam; and a semiconductor optical amplifier drive unit that supplies the semiconductor optical amplifier with a pulse-modulated drive current. Preferably, the pulse laser device is provided with a control unit, which has a semiconductor laser element drive unit that supplies the semiconductor laser element with a pulse-modulated semiconductor laser element drive current, and which also has the semiconductor optical amplifier drive unit, said control unit synchronizing pulse modulation of the semiconductor laser element drive current and pulse modulation of the semiconductor optical amplifier drive current with each other.
