Abstract:
A pyrimidine or triazine derivative represented by general formula (I) and a herbicide containing a salt thereof as the active ingredient, having an excellent herbicidal effect against harmful weeds growing in lowland and upland fields and non-crop lands, wherein A represents optionally substituted furan, pyrimidine, 1,2,4-triazine or like ring; R represents hydroxy or lower alkoxy; R1 and R2 may be the same or different from each other and each represents halogen, lower alkyl or lower alkoxy; W represents oxygen or sulfur; and z represents nitrogen or methine.
