Pyrrolidine compounds represented by general formula (I), optically active isomers thereof or pharmaceutically acceptable salts of the same: wherein each symbol is as defined in the description; and medicinal compositions containing the compounds of general formula (I), optically active isomers thereof or pharmaceutically acceptable salts of the same together with pharmaceutically acceptable additives. These compounds have an antagonism to serotonin 2 receptor, a platelet aggregation inhibitory effect, a peripheral circulation improving effect and a lacrimal secretion promoting effect, which makes them useful as drugs for thromboembolism, dry eye, etc.
