Title:
QUANTITATIVE SOFT AGAR COLONY FORMATION ASSAY USING TETRAZOLIUM THAT GENERATES WATER-SOLUBLE FORMAZAN
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2013/051590
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a quantitative soft agar colony formation assay which can be achieved rapidly and has high measurement accuracy. Specifically, the present invention relates to a method for evaluating the survival of a cell, comprising: a step of overlaying an agar containing the cell on an agar that is placed on the bottom surface of a container, further overlaying a culture medium on the agar containing the cell, and culturing the cell; a step of removing the culture medium, adding both tetrazolium that can generate water-soluble formazan and an electronic carrier, and culturing the cell; and a step of evaluating the survival of the cell employing the occurrence of the development of the color of the water-soluble formazan as an indicator.
