Abstract:
A quaternary ammonium salt shown by formula (5) (in the formula, R1 represents a C1-4 alkyl group; R2 represents a C1-10 alkyl group; R3 represents a C1-10 alkyl group optionally substituted with one or more phenyl groups or a phenyl group optionally having one or more groups selected from the group consisting of a C1-10 alkyl group and a trifluoromethyl group; R4 represents a C1-4 alkyl group; R5 represents a C1-10 alkyl group; C* represents an asymmetric carbon atom; and X- represents a halide ion) can be used as a catalyst having superior stability under basic conditions.
