Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of developing and providing a novel agricultural and horticultural insecticide because of factors such as existing devastation to crop production in agriculture, horticulture, etc., caused by insect pests, etc., the occurrence of insect pests that are resistant to existing pharmaceuticals, etc. The present invention provides: a quinoline compound having a fused heterocycle linked thereto, which is represented by general formula (1) {in the formula: R1 represents an ethyl group; R2 represents a haloalkyl group or a haloalkylthio group; A1 represents an N-methyl group or an oxygen atom; A2 and A3 each represent a nitrogen atom or CH; B1, B2, B3, B4, and B5 each represent a CH group; and B6 represents a nitrogen atom; m represents 2; and n represents 1.}; an N-oxide or salts thereof; an agricultural and horticultural insecticide containing, as an active ingredient, the quinoline compound or the N-oxide or a salt thereof; and a method of using the agricultural and horticultural insecticide.
