Abstract:
A door assembly having a door tracking in a fixed track (101) for opening and closing of the door, a rack (104) is tracked to move on a fixed locus and is connected to the door, the movement of the rack (104) causing the opening or closing of the door, the rack being engageable by a meshing door opening and/or closing pinion (113) of a door opener, whereby the door is opened upon the controlled rotation of the pinion (113) in one direction by the door opener, and wherein the rack (104) is bifurcated in transverse section, the fixed locus is defined by a wall (106) such as a flange, rail or the like of a fixed track (101), the rack (104) being partly outside and partly inside the wall (106), the pinion engaging the track (104) over regions thereof on one side of the wall (106) preferably outside of the wall.
