Abstract:
A device, installed on a vehicle, for detecting an object comprises: a transmission and reception unit which transmits a radar signal to the outside of the vehicle, on the basis of a first mode or a second mode which have different detection ranges, and receives a radar signal that has been reflected by an object; and a processing unit which detects the object on the basis of the reflected radar signal if the first mode has been activated, and recognizes the object on the basis of the reflected radar signal if the second mode has been activated.
