Abstract:
The present specification relates to a radiation shielding fiber using tungsten powder and a method for preparing the radiation shielding fiber, wherein tungsten particles, an eco-friendly radiation shielding material replacing lead, are directly and uniformly sprayed and coated on a base fiber, so both flexibility and radiation shielding rate are excellent, making it easy to use in various fields that require radiation shielding fibers other than radiation shielding clothing for medical institutions. The radiation shielding fiber according to the present invention includes a base fiber and a radiation shielding material coating layer coated on one surface of the base fiber, wherein the radiation shielding material coating layer is made of a mixture of tungsten powder and at least one inorganic material selected from tin and cobalt.
