Abstract:
According to the present invention, when performing an x-ray transmission inspection using as the inspection subject a film reel in which a long film is wound multiple times around the outer circumferential surface of a core, foreign matter can be reliably detected by reducing the influence of a difference in detection sensitivity according to the position of the foreign matter. This radiation transmission inspection method includes: a first foreign matter inspection step for acquiring information about foreign matter by using a first detector to detect radiation which is emitted from a first radiation source to one side end portion A of the film reel and passes through the inside of the reel to be emitted from the other side end portion B; and a second foreign matter detection step for acquiring information about foreign matter by using a second detector to detect radiation which is emitted from a second radiation source to the other side end portion B of the film reel and passes through the inside of the reel to be emitted from the one side end portion A, where the one side end portion A is the side surface on one side of the reel and the other side end portion B is the side surface on the other side of the reel.
