Abstract:
In order to obtain a horizontal-electric-field liquid crystal display element by which favorable black displaying is possible, and high backlight transmittance and fast response speed can be achieved, a radical generation film-forming composition used for the horizontal-electric-field liquid crystal display element is provided. This radical generation film-forming composition contains: a component (A) which is a polymer having, in a main chain, a structural unit represented by formula (1); and a component (B) which is a polymer used as an alignment component of a liquid crystal aligning agent for driving a horizontal electric field. (In the formula, A represents an organic group that induces radical polymerization.)
