Abstract:
This invention is directed to suppression of radio interference between or amount a plurality of radio tag communication apparatuses or to suppression of radio interference on a radio tag side, thereby improving the reliability of radio communication. A radio tag communication apparatus (1) comprises: a reader antenna unit (3) that can execute a radio communication with a radio tag (T) in a predetermined frequency range; and an RSSI circuit (226) that is operative to detect the received signal intensity of received radio waves. A use status for each of a plurality of channels is determined based on the detected received signal intensity (Vs), and a communication operation is then decided according to whether it has been determined that none of the plurality of channels is currently used or it has been determined that any one of the plurality of channels is currently used. Then, one of the plurality of channels that is to be used is selected and such selected channel is used to implement a radio communication with the radio tag (T) by use of the decided communication operation.
