Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a radio wave direction regulation unit that is small, capable of narrowing the directivity of an antenna and increasing the reading distance, and capable of improving the recognition rate of UHF-band RFID tags. [Solution] This invention is provided with a plurality of radio wave absorption patches arranged, facing the antenna so as to block radio waves radiated from the antenna, at predetermined intervals in the direction in which the directivity of the antenna is enhanced. A cutout or a hole for allowing through the radio waves radiated from the antenna is formed at at least one location on the radio wave absorption patches. Most of the radio waves radiated from the antenna are blocked and absorbed by the radio wave absorption patches, while only some of the radio waves pass through without being absorbed, whereby it becomes possible to narrow the directivity of the antenna as well as increase the radiation strength of the radio waves.
