Abstract:
Disclosed are a radiometer and an operating method thereof, and a monitoring system using the same. The disclosed radiometer according to one embodiment comprises: a first antenna; a second antenna installed to have a radiation pattern, the direction of which differs from that of a radiation pattern of the first antenna; a signal processing unit for detecting a voltage level corresponding to a first radiated radio-wave received by the first antenna and a voltage level corresponding to a second radiated radio-wave received by the second antenna; and a signal analysis unit for detecting a temperature change of a target that the first antenna faces, on the basis of the voltage level corresponding to the first radiated radio-wave and the voltage level corresponding to the second radiated radio-wave. Also, a monitoring method according to one embodiment comprises the steps of: generating an output voltage corresponding to the brightness temperature of an object inside or outside a structure, by each of multiple ultrahigh frequency radiometers arranged to be spaced from one another at predetermined intervals within a set distance from the structure; receiving, by a server, a signal related to the output voltage from each of the multiple ultrahigh frequency radiometers; and determining, by the server, whether the object is a human being or flame, on the basis of a pattern of the signal related to the output voltage of each of the ultrahigh frequency radiometers according to lapse of time.
