Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a rail breakage detection system and a rail breakage detection method, with which rail breakage detection is precisely performed and safety of maintenance personnel etc. is improved. The present invention is characterized as follows. A tandem device (2) detects a rail breakage on the basis of track circuit information (10) of a segment of an on-rail position transmitted from a track circuit (9), and wireless train position information (8) transmitted from train control systems (3, 5). When the tandem device (2) detects a rail breakage, the tandem device (2) sets a breakage status of the segment where the rail breakage was detected. Unless information of a request, by operation of a tandem control terminal (6), for rail breakage restoration of the segment where the rail breakage was detected is received, the setting of the rail breakage status of said segment is not cancelled.
