Abstract:
The embodiments of the present application relate to the technical field of communications. Provided are a random access method, and a device. The method comprises: for a plurality of first beams, a UE respectively sending a target preamble to a network device, wherein the target preamble is the preamble corresponding to a target beam, which has the strongest signal strength, among the plurality of first beams; and after receiving the target preamble, the network device determining, according to a correspondence between preambles and beams, a target beam corresponding to the target preamble, such that an RAR can be sent to the UE by using the target beam which has the strongest signal strength, which can not only reduce the processing complexity of the UE and the network device, but can also improve the success rate of random access.
