Abstract:
A Rankine cycle device of an internal combustion engine, comprising a first Rankine cycle (2A) operated on a first working medium and a second Rankine cycle (2B) operated on a second working medium, the first Rankine cycle (2A) further comprising an evaporator (3A), an expansion machine (4), a condenser (5A), and a feed pump (6A) and the second Rankine cycle (2B) further comprising an evaporator (3B), the expansion machine (4), a condenser (5B), and a feed pump (6c), wherein the evaporator (3A) of the first Rankine cycle (2A) and the evaporator (3B) of the second Rankine cycle (2B) are disposed on the upstream and downstream sides of an exhaust emission control device (8) installed in the exhaust emission passage (7) of the internal combustion engine (1), respectively, the boiling point of the first working medium is set higher than that of the second working medium, and at least the capacity of the pump (6A) of the first Rankine cycle (2A) is made variable, whereby the waste heat recovering efficiency of the internal combustion engine by the Rankine cycle device can be maximized, and the activation of the exhaust emission control device can be promoted.
