Abstract:
A reading device so designed that the information recorded on a recording medium is correctly read, wherein when a door (11a) is in its opened state, a recording medium (2) is inserted in a groove-like guide (11d) formed in the raised portion of the door (11a) and then inserted in a case (11) along an insertion portion (11e) as the recording medium (2) is fixed from above and below by guides (1a) and (11f). Therefore, in this state, barcodes recorded on the recording medium (2) pass in front of a reading head (1b), so that the barcodes recorded on the recording medium (2)can be correctly read. According to this reading device, skewing or meandering of the recording medium during conveyance is prevented to ensure that the information recorded on the recording medium is correctly read.
